Testo Morning Lament

I never had the rising sunshine To my very own I never had a lasting love I learned to walk alone I never had the beach within my reach So I caved through muddy stone And here I never felt so young While growing old I never had the walk of fancies But I had a childhood dream I never coddled unforgiveness I learned to rise above the steam But I've held a wild creature Hoping it would stay I'll carry all it's love to my dying day I see the comfort of its home High within the trees And it carries all its love on its wings I never had a cross to carry That was built for only me I never felt more pain than in honesty I never skipped the stone across the stream I held tight to that dream Here I've never tried so hard to breath But I hear the morning songbird It wakes me to my feet And it carries me along in peace.
