Testo Break My Pride

This is the big break down and I'm in it.
This is the big shake up and it's me that's
on the choppin' block, likin' it or not,
I'm in a wilderness cold as the Iditarod.
This is the crucible and I'm the burning brand,
child crushed and caressed by the Father's hand.

My heart is filthy oh, I kind of like it though.
I'm hearin voices, talking in stereo.
One's like a siren's song slowly seducing me,
one's like a lullaby, I wanna close my eyes.

If I would be His son He calls follow me and die,
in Christ I have a place but there is none for my pride.
I must admit I nearly didn't get the message clear,
because a proud man finds God hard to hear.
I didn't heed the word He had to use a mega-phone to get the message home, I know that I am not my own.
