Testo Soldiers In Heaven
Testo Soldiers In Heaven
I was just right out of high school
had no clue what i should be
so i enlisted in the service
to serve our great land of the free
i stood ten feet tall and bullet proof.
Heading to afghanistan
this teen not scared of anything quickly became a grown up man
i was barely out of high school
and i was still really a kid
but i wanted to serve my country
like my dad and brothers did
but if you ever served in combat
you won't brag on it at all
you try to rid the memories
of all the men that you saw fall
at only eighteen years of age
i was put on the front line
and i cant put into words the constant chills gone down my spine
and just like you hear in movies
no man is ever left behind
so many bodies i have carried
cant rid the visions from my mind
i was barely out of high school
and i was still really a kid
but i wanted to serve my country
like my dad and brothers did
but if you ever served in combat
you won't brag on it at all
you try to rid the memories
of all the men that you saw fall
(chorus music)
now my momma's heart is breaking
as she heard the news today
that her son had lost his life
fighting this war so far away
so many moms of sons are cryin
but we're in heaven lookin down
we're now soldiers up in heaven
watchin the battle on the ground.
Yeah they are barely out of high school
and they really are still kids
and they want to serve their country
as their dads and brothers did
and if they make it back from combat
they won't brag on it at all
they'll try to rid the memories
of all the men they saw fall
and momma please forgive me
i tried my best not to fall
now i'm a soldier up in heaven
and i got my name up on that wall.
